Company news Brad Daley is performing the role of Don Jose in Oz Opera's production of Carmen touring Australia this summer. Martene Grimson was chosen as one of ten finalists out of 850 applicants for Placido Domingo's Operalia competition in Madrid this June. Following her graduation from the National Opera Studio, where she was supported by the Royal Opera, Martene was invited to give a lunchtime recital at the Opera House in July. She will be performing the leading role of Blanche in Poulenc's Dialogues des Carmelites conducted by Jan Lathan-Koenig in Poland. Sean Ruane has been performing the role of Nemorino in Opera Holland Park's sparkling production of L'Elisir d'amore this July Jeremy Silver is conducting Rigoletto and Lucia di Lammermoor for the state opera companies of Johannesburg, Bloemfontain and Pretoria, South Africa, this summer. Christianne Stotijn made her debut with
the Paris Opera in May as Pauline in Tchaikovsky's Queen
of Spades. She has received a substantial award from Buitoni Foundation
for continued study and will perform the title role of The
Italian Girl in Algiers at the Aix-en-Provence Festival in 2006.
London audiences can hear this outstanding mezzo-soprano on 22 December
2005 when she performs in a gala concert at Wigmore Hall organised by
the accompanist Julius Drake in memory of his mother, Jean Meikle.
